A white cane user with a severe sight impairment, Ruqaiya is a writer and a poet who’s contributed to a poetry book ‘A Blind Bit of Difference’ and, as a VICTA Ambassador, writes articles on issues impacting visual impairment. She’s also a public speaker, educating people on disability, and has advised London Zoo on enhancing accessibility. Ruqaiya will begin a Fine Arts degree in September.
